5 Super Foods To Boost Your Immune System

Winter is just around the conner so it doesn’t hurt to keep you immune system on top form, but making sure your system is fighting fit all year round will keep you free from disease and sickness. Here are some foods that are yummy and help shield you from all the nasties of the world.

1. Garlic

  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Promotes strong bones
  • Cleanses the digestive tract

Garlic is a complete super food that is pretty much friendly to your whole body including your taste buds. Its fights infection and is a natural antibiotic. However if you are on a Low FODMAP diet stay away and it can disrupt your IBS.

2. Mushrooms

  • Immunity boosting
  • Weight management
  • Increase vitamin D

Mushrooms defend your body against bacterial invasion, fungi have developed strong antibiotics, which also happen to be effective for us humans. Penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline all come from fungal extracts. There are over 100 species of mushroom beneficial to our health, so these no excuses to not like them.

I use ginger in everything, including my body lotions (yep, i’m a fan). It is great for just about everything. If you have IBS it’s  great to rub a little ginger oil on your tummy to help inflammation. Also keep stocked up for the winter to keep those nasty bugs at bay!

Yoghurt is a natural probiotic which is good bacteria to help with any tummy troubles you may have, however if you suffer from SIBO always lt with your doctor before as too much good bacteria is bad.

Research has proven that these little grains are more potent than echinacea which antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. They heal wounds faster and strengthen the immune system and could aid in the effectiveness of antibiotics.
