Winter is just around the conner so it doesn’t hurt to keep you immune system on top form, but making sure your system is fighting fit all year round will keep you free from disease and sickness. Here are some foods that are yummy and help shield you from all the nasties of the world.

1. Garlic

  • Cleanses the digestive tract

Garlic is a complete super food that is pretty much friendly to your whole body including your taste buds. Its fights infection and is a natural antibiotic. However if you are on a Low FODMAP diet stay away and it can disrupt your IBS.

2. Mushrooms

  • Weight management
  • Increase vitamin D

Mushrooms defend your body against bacterial invasion, fungi have developed strong antibiotics, which also happen to be effective for us humans. Penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline all come from fungal extracts. There are over 100 species of mushroom beneficial to our health, so these no excuses to not like them.
